Main research areas

The main research areas of the department for Sport Science and Kinesiology cover the topics "Alpine Sport", "Teaching and Educational Research", as well as "Prevention and Training-Therapy".

The scientific standards of Sport Science and the relevant mother-sciences are guidelines for our research approach. The above mentioned competence foci will be elaborated, identified as well as deepened and complemented through international cooperation. Our research particularly covers research questions, which promote the scientific intersection and coverage of practice (methods, interventions, diagnostics,..) in the professional fields of sportscientists and academic teaching staff  for the school subject "movement and sport" in the areas of physical education, health and therapy. It is in close interaction with the study of Sport Sciences and the study of Physical Education. Our students are involved in current research projects.
